Specificity
Candida albicans
Reacts with 10 strains of C. albican, C. parapsillosis, C. glabrata & C. tropicales, but does not react with C. krusei. In order to obtain optimum sensitivity the specimen must first be extracted with 0.4 M Sodium Hydroxide. Does not cross react with Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus terreus, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, Blastomyces, Paracoccidioides, Penicillium notatum, Mucor, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia pastoris.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.
Buffer
0.01 M Phosphate Buffered Saline, pH 7.2. This product contains no stabilizing proteins.
Immunogen
Proprietary fraction of the native Candida albicans.
Preservative
0.1% Sodium Azide
Important Note
Centrifuge before opening to ensure complete recovery of vial contents
Warnings
This product contains sodium azide, which has been classified as Xn (Harmful), in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0.1-1.0 %. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing, flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains.
