Other Notes

Small volumes of FN elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS032933 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Fibronectin (FN) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FN. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS032933 kit is based on FN antibody-FN antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FN antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FN. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for FN

Function: Fibronectins bind cell surfaces and various compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. Fibronectins are involved in cell adhesion, cell motility, opsonization, wound healing, and maintenance of cell shape. May be involved in osteoblast compaction

By similarity.

Subunit structure: Dimers or multimers of alternatively spliced variants, connected by 2 disulfide bonds near the carboxyl ends

By similarity.

Tissue specificity: In early Xenopus embryo, cellular forms of fibronectin predominate which include both extra domains. In fibronectin of embryonic and adult liver the connecting strand 3 can be either completely excluded or included.

Post-translational modification: Forms covalent cross-links mediated by a transglutaminase, such as F13A or TGM2, between a glutamine and the epsilon-amino group of a lysine residue, forming homopolymers and heteropolymers (e.g. fibrinogen-fibronectin, collagen-fibronectin heteropolymers).

Sequence similarities: Contains 12 fibronectin type-I domains.Contains 2 fibronectin type-II domains.Contains 17 fibronectin type-III domains.
