Specificity
This antibody recognises retinoblastoma-associated protein (RB), a 105kDa tumour suppressor which is also known as Rb1. Rb1 functions as a transcription factor that controls cell cycle progression (at the G1/S phase transition) through its repression of E2F-mediated transcription. Mutation of the Rb gene is found frequently in human sarcomas, lung, bladder and breast carcinomas and is the molecular basis for hereditary disposition to retinoblastoma.
Target Antigen
Rb1
Immunogen
Rb-b-galactosidase fusion protein spanning nucleotides 1126-1973 of human Rb gel purified from bacterial lysates
Myeloma/fusion Partners
Cells from immunized Balb/c mice were fused with the Sp2/0-Ag.14 myeloma cell line
Research Areas
Epigenetics; Cell cycle; Tumour supressor
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-Rb1 antibody
Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin
Application Notes for anti-Rb1 antibody
Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration
