Mammaglobin Antibody – Rabbit

Detection of mammaglobin in metastatic mamma carcinoma, differential identification of metastases in sentinel lymph nodes Mammaglobin A is a breast gland associated glycoprotein, distantly related to the secretoglobin family including human Uteroglobin and Lipophilins. Unlike other secretoglobin family members Mammaglobin mRNA seems to be Mamma-specific (exception skin). Mammaglobin has been detected by immunohistochemical approach in intact breast tissue as well as in adenocarcinoma. It seems to be up-regulated in cancer tissues. The monoclonal antibody is suitable for the detection of occult mamma carcinoma cells in sentinel lymph nodes and in peripheral blood. The overall sensitivity of mammaglobin detection on paraffin sections of mamma carcinoma was reported to be >80% (Fanger et al. 2002; Han et al. 2003). 10 KDa Mammaglobin from human breast tissue, no cross-reactivity with mammaglobin B, lipophilin and uteroglobin.

Small volumes of anti-Mammaglobin antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap.
