MCL1 Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS415391

This gene encodes an anti-apoptotic protein, which is a member of the Bcl-2 family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. The longest gene product (isoform 1) enhances cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis while the alternatively… More details

Application Notes for anti-MCL1 antibody
Western blot (1:1000) and ELISA (1:2000~5000). Mcl-1 is an anti-apoptotic member of Bcl-2 family originally isolated from the ML-1 human myeloid leukemia cell line during phorbol ester-induced differentiation along the monocyte/macrophage pathway. Mcl-1 localizes to the mitochondria, interacts with and antagonizes pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members, and inhibits apoptosis by a number of cytotoxic stimuli.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-MCL1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for MCL1

MCL1: a myeloid cell leukemia protein of the Bcl-2 family of proteins. Two alternatively spliced transcripts encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. The longer gene product (isoform 1) enhances cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis while the alternatively spliced shorter gene product (isoform 2) promotes apoptosis and is death-inducing.
