UniProt Comments for FPRL1

FPR2: Low affinity receptor for N-formyl-methionyl peptides, which are powerful neutrophils chemotactic factors. Binding of FMLP to the receptor causes activation of neutrophils. This response is mediated via a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The activation of LXA4R could result in an anti-inflammatory outcome counteracting the actions of proinflammatory signals such as LTB4 (leukotriene B4). Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.41

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: complement receptor activity; G-protein coupled receptor activity

Biological Process: cell adhesion; cell motility; chemotaxis; complement receptor mediated signaling pathway; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating); inflammatory response; leukocyte migration
