Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-Tcfec antibody
Peptide ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-Tcfec antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave one band at approx 37kDa and much stronger bands at approx 70+28kDa in Mouse Testis lysates after 0.5 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the stonger bands we observe given the calculated size of 35.1kDa according to Mouse NP_112475.1. All detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands).

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-Tcfec antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Tcfec

TFEC: Transcriptional regulator that acts as a repressor or an activator. Acts as a transcriptional repressor on minimal promoter containing element F (that includes an E-box sequence). Binds to element F in an E-box sequence-specific manner. Acts as a transcriptional transactivator on the proximal promoter region of the tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) E-box containing promoter. Collaborates with MITF in target gene activation. Acts as a transcriptional repressor on minimal promoter containing mu E3 enhancer sequence. Binds to mu E3 DNA sequence of the immunoglobulin heavy-chain gene enhancer. Binds DNA in a homo- or heterodimeric form. Belongs to the MiT/TFE family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; protein dimerization activity

Biological Process: regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent
