Application Notes for anti-SAR1B antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000.
Western Blot: Approx.25kDa band observed in Mouse Liver and Rat Liver lysates (calculated MW of 22.4kDa according to human NP_057187.1 and mouse NP_079811.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing SAR1B a band of approx.26kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Recommended concentration: 0. 03-0.1ug/ml.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-SAR1B antibody

(0. 03ug/ml) staining of Mouse Liver lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.
Goat Anti-SAR1B Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS420308

Western Blot (WB) of anti-SAR1B antibody

HEK293 overexpressing SAR1B (RC210593) and probed (mock transfection in first lane), tested by Origene.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-SAR1B antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for SAR1B

The protein encoded by this gene is a small GTPase that acts as a homodimer. The encoded protein is activated by the guanine nucleotide exchange factor PREB and is involved in protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi. This protein is part of the COPII coat complex. Defects in this gene are a cause of chylomicron retention disease (CMRD), also known as Anderson disease (ANDD). Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

UniProt Comments for SAR1B

SAR1B: Involved in transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. Activated by the guanine nucleotide exchange factor PREB. Involved in the selection of the protein cargo and the assembly of the COPII coat complex. Defects in SAR1B are the cause of chylomicron retention disease (CMRD); also known as Anderson disease (ANDD). CMRD is an autosomal recessive disorder of severe fat malabsorption associated with failure to thrive in infancy. The condition is characterized by deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins, low blood cholesterol levels, and a selective absence of chylomicrons from blood. Affected individuals accumulate chylomicron-like particles in membrane-bound compartments of enterocytes, which contain large cytosolic lipid droplets. Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. SAR1 family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; G protein, monomeric; G protein, monomeric, SAR1; G protein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q31.1

Cellular Component: cytosol; endoplasmic reticulum membrane

Molecular Function: GTP binding; GTPase activity; metal ion binding

Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II; antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen via MHC class I; COPII coating of Golgi vesicle; ER to Golgi vesicle-mediated transport; intracellular protein transport; small GTPase mediated signal transduction

Disease: Chylomicron Retention Disease
