Application Notes for anti-CSRP2 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 64000.
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Lung shows staining of the endothelial cells of a blood vessel. Recommended concentration, 3-6ug/ml.
Western Blot: Approx 26kDa band observed in Human Heart and Kidney lysates and in Mouse and Rat Kidney lysates (calculated MW of 21. 0kDa according to NP_001312.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Huber et al, J Biol Chem.2000 Feb 25;275(8): 5504-11; PMID: 10681529). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing CRP2 a band of approx.26kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-CSRP2 antibody

(0.2ug/ml) staining of Human (A), Mouse (B) and Rat (C) Kidney lysates (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence
Goat Anti-CSRP2 Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS420443

Western Blot (WB) of anti-CSRP2 antibody

HEK293 overexpressing CRP2 (RC201565) and probed (mock transfection in first lane), tested by Origene.
Goat Anti-CSRP2 Polyclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS420443

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-CSRP2 antibody

(3.8ug/ml) staining of paraffin embedded Human Lung. Steamed antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6, AP-staining.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CSRP2 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CSRP2

CSRP2 is a member of the CSRP family of genes, encoding a group of LIM domain proteins, which may be involved in regulatory processes important for development and cellular differentiation. CRP2 contains two copies of the cysteine-rich amino acid sequence motif (LIM) with putative zinc-binding activity, and may be involved in regulating ordered cell growth. Other genes in the family include CSRP1 and CSRP3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

UniProt Comments for CSRP2

CSRP2: a LIM protein that is differentially regulated and preferentially expressed in aortic smooth muscle cells. Drastically down-regulated in response to PDGF-BB or cell injury, that promote smooth muscle cell proliferation and dedifferentiation. Seems to play a role in the development of the embryonic vascular system.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q21.1

Cellular Component: focal adhesion; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding

Biological Process: cell differentiation; multicellular organismal development; myoblast differentiation
