Application Notes for anti-TIMM50 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 16000.
Western Blot: Experiments gave bands at approx 40kDa in Human Heart lysate after 0.5ug/ml antibody staining. This band corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (PMID: 15044455). This protein has a calculated MW of 50.5kDa according to NP_001001563. Recommended concentration: 0.5-3ug/ml.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-TIMM50 antibody

Staining (0.5ug/ml) of Human Heart lysate (RIPA buffer, 35ug total protein per lane). Primary incubated for 1 hour. Detected by western blot using chemiluminescence.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-TIMM50 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for TIMM50

TIMM50: Essential component of the TIM23 complex, a complex that mediates the translocation of transit peptide-containing proteins across the mitochondrial inner membrane. Has some phosphatase activity in vitro; however such activity may not be relevant in vivo. Isoform 2 may participate in the release of snRNPs and SMN from the Cajal body. Belongs to the TIM50 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Mitochondrial; Membrane protein, integral; Protein phosphatase, dual-specificity

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrial inner membrane presequence translocase complex; mitochondrion; nuclear speck; nucleoplasm

Molecular Function: interleukin-2 receptor binding; phosphoprotein phosphatase activity; protein binding; protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity; protein tyrosine phosphatase activity; ribonucleoprotein binding; RNA binding

Biological Process: mitochondrial membrane organization and biogenesis; protein amino acid dephosphorylation; protein import into mitochondrial matrix; release of cytochrome c from mitochondria
