UniProt Comments for TOM1L2

TOM1L2: a protein of unknown function. Contains a VHS and GAT domain. The VHS domain is considered to have a general membrane targeting/cargo recognition role in vesicular trafficking. The GAT domain is responsible for binding of GGA proteins to several members of the ARF. It stabilizes membrane bound ARF1 in its GTP bound state, by interfering with GAP proteins.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p11.2

Cellular Component: intracellular

Molecular Function: clathrin binding; protein binding; protein kinase binding

Biological Process: intracellular protein transport; negative regulation of mitosis; signal transduction
