Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 128000.
Western Blot: Approx 80kDa band observed in lysates of cell line NIH/3T3 (calculated MW of 59.9kDa according to NP_001013457.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Khandjian et al Hum Mol Genet.1998 Dec;7(13): 2121-8.; PMID: 9817930). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-FXR1 antibody

(0.2ug/ml) staining of NIH/3T3 cell lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

NCBI Summary for FXR1

The protein encoded by this gene is an RNA binding protein that interacts with the functionally-similar proteins FMR1 and FXR2. These proteins shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm and associate with polyribosomes, predominantly with the 60S ribosomal subunit. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for FXR1

FXR1: RNA-binding protein required for embryonic and postnatal development of muscle tissue. May regulate intracellular transport and local translation of certain mRNAs. Interacts with FMR1 and FXR2. Interacts with TDRD3, and with CYFIP2 but not with CYFIP1. Expressed in all tissues examined including heart, brain, kidney and testis. Belongs to the FMR1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Translation; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q28

Cellular Component: axon; costamere; cytoplasm; dendritic spine; membrane; nucleolus; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; polysome

Molecular Function: mRNA 3'-UTR binding; mRNA binding; protein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; protein homodimerization activity; RNA binding; RNA strand annealing activity
