Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 64000.
Western Blot: Approx 55-60kDa band observed in Human Duodenum lysates (calculated MW of 50.9kDa according to NP_004742.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing GCNT3 a band of approx.55kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-GCNT3 antibody

(0.1ug/ml) staining of Human Duodenum lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-GCNT3 antibody

HEK293 overexpressing GCNT3 (RC202007) and probed (mock transfection in first lane), tested by Origene.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-GCNT3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for GCNT3

This gene encodes a member of the N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase family. The encoded protein is a beta-6-N-acetylglucosamine-transferase that catalyzes the formation of core 2 and core 4 O-glycans on mucin-type glycoproteins.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

UniProt Comments for GCNT3

GCNT3: Glycosyltransferase that can synthesize all known mucin beta 6 N-acetylglucosaminides. Mediates core 2 and core 4 O-glycan branching, 2 important steps in mucin-type biosynthesis. Has also I-branching enzyme activity by converting linear into branched poly-N-acetyllactosaminoglycans, leading to introduce the blood group I antigen during embryonic development. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 14 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Transferase; EC 2.4.1.102; EC 2.4.1.150; Glycan Metabolism - O-glycan biosynthesis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q21.3

Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; integral to membrane; membrane

Molecular Function: acetylgalactosaminyl-O-glycosyl-glycoprotein beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity; beta-1,3-galactosyl-O-glycosyl-glycoprotein beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity; N-acetyllactosaminide beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity
