Application Notes for anti-ERN2 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 4000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 37kDa band in Human Duodenum, Pancreas and Placenta lysates after 0.3ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 107kDa according to NP_150296.3. The 37kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-ERN2 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for ERN2

IRE2: Induces translational repression through 28S ribosomal RNA cleavage in response to ER stress. Pro-apoptotic. Appears to play no role in the unfolded-protein response, unlike closely related proteins. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Ser/Thr protein kinase family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Ribonuclease; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); EC 2.7.11.1; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, Other; Apoptosis; Other group; IRE family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p12.2

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: ATP binding; endonuclease activity; magnesium ion binding; protein serine/threonine kinase activity; ribonuclease activity

Biological Process: apoptotic chromosome condensation; mRNA processing; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; protein amino acid phosphorylation; rRNA catabolic process; transcription, DNA-dependent
