NCBI Summary for DIXDC1

The protein encoded by this gene is a positive regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway. The encoded protein is found associated with gamma tubulin at the centrosome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]

UniProt Comments for DIXDC1

DIXDC1: Positive effector of the Wnt signaling pathway; activates WNT3A signaling via DVL2. Regulates JNK activation by AXIN1 and DVL2. Belongs to the DIXDC1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; focal adhesion

Molecular Function: actin binding; gamma-tubulin binding; protein binding; protein domain specific binding

Biological Process: cell cycle; cerebral cortex radially oriented cell migration; forebrain ventricular zone progenitor cell division; negative regulation of neuron differentiation; regulation of actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; Wnt receptor signaling pathway through beta-catenin
