Application Notes for anti-MTNR1B antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.

Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave approx. 48kDa and 37kDa bands in Human Brain (Cerebellum) lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 40.2kDa according to NP_005950.1. The 48kDa and 37kDa bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Cerebellum shows membranous staining primarily in Purkinje cells. Recommended concentration, 3-6ug/ml.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-MTNR1B antibody

(3.8ug/ml) staining of paraffin embedded Human Cerebellum. Steamed antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6, AP-staining.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-MTNR1B antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for MTNR1B

This gene encodes one of two high affinity forms of a receptor for melatonin, the primary hormone secreted by the pineal gland. This gene product is an integral membrane protein that is a G-protein coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor. It is found primarily in the retina and brain although this detection requires RT-PCR. It is thought to participate in light-dependent functions in the retina and may be involved in the neurobiological effects of melatonin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
