UniProt Comments for HIP1R

HIP1R: Component of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles, that may link the endocytic machinery to the actin cytoskeleton. Binds 3- phosphoinositides (via ENTH domain). May act through the ENTH domain to promote cell survival by stabilizing receptor tyrosine kinases following ligand-induced endocytosis. Belongs to the SLA2 family.

Protein type: Vesicle

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q24

Cellular Component: clathrin coated vesicle membrane; clathrin-coated vesicle; coated pit; cytoplasm; cytoskeleton; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; perinuclear region of cytoplasm

Molecular Function: actin binding; clathrin binding; phosphoinositide binding; protein binding

Biological Process: apoptosis; receptor-mediated endocytosis
