Peptide ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-Inha antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 64000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 30kDa band in Mouse Brain lysates after 2ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 39.5kDa according to NP_034694.3. The 30kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-Inha antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Inha

INHA: Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: cell soma; cytoplasm; extracellular region; extracellular space; photoreceptor inner segment; photoreceptor outer segment

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; growth factor activity; hormone activity; protein heterodimerization activity; receptor binding; transforming growth factor beta receptor binding

Biological Process: cell development; hemoglobin biosynthetic process; male gonad development; negative regulation of follicle-stimulating hormone secretion; ovarian follicle development; regulation of apoptosis; regulation of cell cycle; regulation of cell proliferation; regulation of MAPKKK cascade
