ETEA Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS435166

The protein encoded by this gene is highly expressed in peripheral blood of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD), compared to normal individuals. It may play a role in regulating the resistance to apoptosis that is observed in T cells and eosinophils of AD… More details

Western Blot (WB) of anti-ETEA antibody

Mouse Anti-ETEA Monoclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS435166

Immunoprecipitation (IP) of anti-ETEA antibody

FAF2 was immunoprecipitated from 1mg of Jurkat cells membrane fraction, blotted with M25099 of 10 ug. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using M25099 at 1/1000 dilution. Anti-Mouse-IgG(HRP), specific to the non-reduced form of IgG, was used as secondary antibody at 1/10000 dilution. Lane 1: Jurkat cells membrane fraction. Lane2: IP product of Jurkat cells membrane fraction.

Predicted band size : 53 KDa
Observed band size : 53 KDa

Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration:5% milk/TBST.
Mouse Anti-ETEA Monoclonal Antibody, Immunoprecipitation (IP) – Cat# MBS435166

Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) of anti-ETEA antibody

Flow cytometric analysis of 2% paraformaldehyde-fixed Jurkat (Human T cell leukemia cells from peripheral blood) cells labeling FAF2 with M25099 at 1/200 dilution (red) compared with a mouse monoclonal IgG isotype control (black) and an unlabelled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody, blue). Goat anti-mouse IgG (FITC) at 1/300 dilution was used as the secondary antibody.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-ETEA antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for ETEA

Plays an important role in endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) that mediates ubiquitin-dependent degradation of misfolded endoplasmic reticulum proteins (PubMed:18711132, PubMed:24215460). By controlling the steady-state expression of the IGF1R receptor, indirectly regulates the insulin-like growth factor receptor signaling pathway (PubMed:26692333). Involved in inhibition of lipid droplet degradation by binding to phospholipase PNPL2 and inhibiting its activity by promoting dissociation of PNPL2 from its endogenous activator, ABHD5 which inhibits the rate of triacylglycerol hydrolysis (PubMed:23297223).
