Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
Progesterone Receptor (PGR), Monoclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
Progesterone Receptor
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
NR3C3; Nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 3; PGR; PR; PRA; PRB; Progesterone receptor form A; Progesterone receptor form B
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1, kappa
Clone Number
PR501
Host
Mouse
Species Reactivity
Human.
Form/Format
200ug/ml of Ab purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G. Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.
Specificity
This MAb is specific to progesterone receptor and shows minimal cross-reaction with other members of the family. Progesterone receptor is expressed as two major isoforms, PR-A (81kDa) and PR-B (116kDa). Expression of PgR has been suggested to reflect a intact estrogen regulatory machinery and therefore, predict better clinical response to endocrine therapy than ER alone.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2 to 8 degree C. Antibody is stable for 24 months.
Molecular Weight
PR-A (81kDa); PR-B (116kDa).
OMIM
607311
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P06401
Localization
Nuclear
Positive Control
T47-D Cells or Breast Cancers.
Human Chromosomal Location
11q22.1
Immunogen
Recombinant human Progesterone Receptor protein
Quantity and Buffer
0.5 ml at 200ug/ml with BSA and azide
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-PGR antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistology (IH)
Application Notes for anti-PGR antibody
Western Blotting (0.5-1ug/ml for 2 hours at Room Temp) Immunohistology (0.5-1ug/ml) (Clone PR484 is recommended for IHC) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes) Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.

Testing Data of anti-PGR antibody

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-PGR antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for PGR

This gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily. The encoded protein mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce two isoforms, A and B. The two isoforms are identical except for the additional 165 amino acids found in the N-terminus of isoform B and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap.
