200ug/ml of Ab purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G. Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.
Specificity
This MAb is specific to lambda light chain of immunoglobulin and shows no cross-reaction with lambda light chain or any of the five heavy chains. In mammals, the two light chains in an antibody are always identical, with only one type of light chain, kappa or lambda. The ratio of Kappa to Lambda is 70:30. However, with the occurrence of multiple myeloma or other B-cell malignancies this ratio is disturbed. Antibody to the lambda light chain is reportedly useful in the identification of leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates that the infiltrate is malignant.

Application Notes for anti-IGL antibody
ELISA (For coating, order Ab without BSA); Flow Cytometry (0.5-1ug/million cells); Immunofluorescence (1-2ug/ml); Western Blotting (0.5-1ug/ml); Immunoprecipitation (1-2ug/500ug protein lysate); Immunohistology (Frozen & Formalin-fixed) (0.5-1ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes) Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.

NCBI Summary for IGL

Immunoglobulins recognize foreign antigens and initiate immune responses such as phagocytosis and the complement system. Each immunoglobulin molecule consists of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains. There are two classes of light chains, kappa and lambda. This region represents the germline organization of the lambda light chain locus. The locus includes V (variable), J (joining), and C (constant) segments. During B cell development, a recombination event at the DNA level joins a single V segment with a J segment; the C segment is later joined by splicing at the RNA level. Recombination of many different V segments with several J segments provides a wide range of antigen recognition. Additional diversity is attained by junctional diversity, resulting from the random additional of nucleotides by terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase, and by somatic hypermutation, which occurs during B cell maturation in the spleen and lymph nodes. Several V segments and three C segments are known to be incapable of encoding a protein and are considered pseudogenes. The locus also includes several non-immunoglobulin genes, many of which are pseudogenes or are predicted by automated computational analysis or homology to other species. UniProt Comments for IGL

IGLV1-51: V segment of the variable region of immunoglobulins light chain that participates to the antigen recognition. Immunoglobulins (Igs), also known as antibodies, are membrane- bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, the membrane-bound Igs serve as receptors which, upon binding of a specific antigen (Ag), trigger the clonal expansion and differentiation of B lymphocytes into Ig-secreting plasma cells. Secreted Igs mediate the effector phase of humoral immunity, which results in the elimination of bound antigens (PubMed:20176268, PubMed:22158414). The antigen binding site is formed by the variable region of one heavy chain, together with that of its associated light chain. Thus, each Ig has two antigen binding sites with remarkable affinity for a particular antigen. The variable regions are assembled by a process called V(D)J recombination and can then be subjected to somatic hypermutation after exposure to antigen to allow affinity maturation for a particular Ag (PubMed:20176268, PubMed:17576170). {ECO:0000303|PubMed:17576170, ECO:0000303|PubMed:20176268, ECO:0000303|PubMed:22158414}. Immunoglobulins are composed of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, linked by disulfide bonds. {ECO:0000303|PubMed:20176268}
