Other Notes

Small volumes of KAZALD1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS453483 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Kazal Type Serine Protease Inhibitor Domain Containing Protein 1 (KAZALD1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing KAZALD1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS453483 kit is based on KAZALD1 antibody-KAZALD1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KAZALD1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KAZALD1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for KAZALD1

This gene encodes a secreted member of the insulin growth factor-binding protein (IGFBP) superfamily. The protein contains an insulin growth factor-binding domain in its N-terminal region, a Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor and follistatin-like domain in its central region, and an immunoglobulin-like domain in its C-terminal region. Studies of the mouse ortholog suggest that this protein may function in bone development and bone regeneration. This gene is hypomethylated and over-expressed in high-grade glioma compared to low-grade glioma, and thus the hypomethylated gene may be associated with cell proliferation and the shorter survival of patients with high-grade glioma. It is also one of numerous genes found to be deleted in a novel 5.54 Mb interstitial deletion, which is associated with multiple congenital anomalies. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
