Other Notes

Small volumes of HSP40 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS454869 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Heat Shock Protein 40 (HSP40) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing HSP40. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS454869 kit is based on HSP40 antibody-HSP40 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect HSP40 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, HSP40. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for HSP40

This gene encodes a member of the DnaJ or Hsp40 (heat shock protein 40 kD) family of proteins. DNAJ family members are characterized by a highly conserved amino acid stretch called the 'J-domain' and function as one of the two major classes of molecular chaperones involved in a wide range of cellular events, such as protein folding and oligomeric protein complex assembly. The encoded protein is a molecular chaperone that stimulates the ATPase activity of Hsp70 heat-shock proteins in order to promote protein folding and prevent misfolded protein aggregation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

UniProt Comments for HSP40

Interacts with HSP70 and can stimulate its ATPase activity. Stimulates the association between HSC70 and HIP.
