Other Notes

Small volumes of EAAT3 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for EAAT3 purchase

MBS458969 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 3 (EAAT3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing EAAT3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS458969 kit is based on EAAT3 antibody-EAAT3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect EAAT3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, EAAT3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for EAAT3

This gene encodes a member of the high-affinity glutamate transporters that play an essential role in transporting glutamate across plasma membranes. In brain, these transporters are crucial in terminating the postsynaptic action of the neurotransmitter glutamate, and in maintaining extracellular glutamate concentrations below neurotoxic levels. This transporter also transports aspartate, and mutations in this gene are thought to cause dicarboxylicamino aciduria, also known as glutamate-aspartate transport defect. UniProt Comments for EAAT3

Sodium-dependent, high-affinity amino acid transporter that mediates the uptake of L-glutamate and also L-aspartate and D-aspartate (PubMed:7914198, PubMed:7521911, PubMed:8857541, PubMed:26690923, PubMed:21123949). Can also transport L-cysteine (PubMed:21123949). Functions as a symporter that transports one amino acid molecule together with two or three Na+ ions and one proton, in parallel with the counter-transport of one K+ ion (PubMed:7521911, PubMed:8857541, PubMed:26690923). Mediates Cl- flux that is not coupled to amino acid transport; this avoids the accumulation of negative charges due to aspartate and Na+ symport (PubMed:8857541, PubMed:26690923). Plays an important role in L-glutamate and L-aspartate reabsorption in renal tubuli (PubMed:21123949). Plays a redundant role in the rapid removal of released glutamate from the synaptic cleft, which is essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate (). Negatively regulated by ARL6IP5 ().
