Ephrin A4 (EFNA4) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS458999

Test Principle: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to EFNA4. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to EFNA4.… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of EFNA4 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS458999 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Ephrin A4 (EFNA4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing EFNA4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS458999 kit is based on EFNA4 antibody-EFNA4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect EFNA4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, EFNA4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for EFNA4

This gene encodes a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. The ephrins and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. This gene encodes an EFNA class ephrin. Three transcript variants that encode distinct proteins have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for EFNA4

Cell surface GPI-bound ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. May play a role in the interaction between activated B-lymphocytes and dendritic cells in tonsils.
