Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1 (GDH) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS459540

Test Principle: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GDH. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to GDH. Next,… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of GDH elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for GDH purchase

MBS459540 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1 (GDH) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GDH. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS459540 kit is based on GDH antibody-GDH antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GDH antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GDH. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for GDH

This gene encodes glutamate dehydrogenase, which is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of glutamate to alpha-ketoglutarate and ammonia. This enzyme has an important role in regulating amino acid-induced insulin secretion. It is allosterically activated by ADP and inhibited by GTP and ATP. Activating mutations in this gene are a common cause of congenital hyperinsulinism. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. The related glutamate dehydrogenase 2 gene on the human X-chromosome originated from this gene via retrotransposition and encodes a soluble form of glutamate dehydrogenase. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 10, 18 and X. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]

UniProt Comments for GDH

Mitochondrial glutamate dehydrogenase that converts L-glutamate into alpha-ketoglutarate. Plays a key role in glutamine anaplerosis by producing alpha-ketoglutarate, an important intermediate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. May be involved in learning and memory reactions by increasing the turnover of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate ().
