Granzyme K (GZMK) Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS468035

Background: Granzyme K (GrK) belongs to a family of trypsin-like serine proteases localised in the cytotoxic granules of activated T cells and NK cells. It encodes a 28 kDa serine protease whose gene is located on chromosome 5q11-12 close to the granzyme… More details

Testing Data of anti-GZMK antibody

Fig.1: FACS analysis of BOSC23 cells using GM-6C3 Cat.# GM- 0205. BOSC23 cells were transiently transfected with an expression vector encoding either Granzyme K (red curve) or an irrelevant protein (control transfectant: black curve). Binding of GM-6C3 was detected with a PE-conjugated secondary antibody. A positive signal was obtained only with Granzyme K transfected cells.

Testing Data #2 of anti-GZMK antibody

Fig2: BOSC cells were transiently transfected with expression vectors for Granzyme A, B, K, or M. Expression of the constructs was tested with an antimyc monoclonal antibody (green curves), an irrelevant monoclonal antibody served as negative control (black curves). For specificity testing, GM-6C3 hybridoma supernatant was tested on all transfectants. A positive signal was obtained only with Granzyme K transfected cells (red curves).

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-GZMK antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for GZMK

This gene product is a member of a group of related serine proteases from the cytoplasmic granules of cytotoxic lymphocytes. Cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL) and natural killer (NK) cells share the remarkable ability to recognize, bind, and lyse specific target cells. They are thought to protect their host by lysing cells bearing on their surface 'nonself' antigens, usually peptides or proteins resulting from infection by intracellular pathogens. The protein described here lacks consensus sequences for N-glycosylation present in other granzymes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
