Full Product Name
Arpc1b/p41-Arc (Thr-21), Phospho-Specific
Product Synonym Names
Arc41; p41; Arpc1b
Clonality
Polyclonal
Host
Rabbit
Species Reactivity
Human, Rat, Mouse, Chicken, Frog
Form/Format
Supplied in 100ul phosphate-buffered saline, 50% glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Specificity
This antibody was affinity purified using phospho-Arpc1b (Thr-21) peptide (without carrier). The antibody detects a 41 kDa* protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Arpc1b on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431 and mouse C2C12 treated with calyculin A. This reactivity is removed with lambda phosphatase treatment.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 1 year.
Molecular Weight
41 kDa
OMIM
604223
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for O15143
Immunogen
Phospho-Arpc1b/p41-Arc (Thr-21) synthetic peptide (coupled to KLH) corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding threonine 21 in human Arpc1b. This peptide sequence is highly conserved in rat, mouse, chicken, and fish Arpc1b, and has some homology to the conserved site in isoform Arpc1a.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-Arpc1b/p41-Arc antibody
Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-Arpc1b/p41-Arc antibody
ELISA: 1:1000
WB: 1:500
WB: Western blot membranes were incubated with diluted antibody in 5% non-fat milk, PBS, 0.04% Tween20 for 1 hour at room temperature.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-Arpc1b/p41-Arc antibody

Western blot analysis of Arpc1b phosphorylation in human A431 stimulated with calyculin A (100 nM) for 30 min (lanes 1 & 3). The blots were treated with lambda phosphatase to remove phosphorylation (lanes 2 & 4), then probed with anti-Arpc1b (C-terminal region) (lanes 1 & 2) or anti-Arpc1b (Thr-21) (lanes 3 & 4).

NCBI Summary for Arpc1b/p41-Arc

This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. This subunit is a member of the SOP2 family of proteins and is most similar to the protein encoded by gene ARPC1A. The similarity between these two proteins suggests that they both may function as p41 subunit of the human Arp2/3 complex that has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells. It is possible that the p41 subunit is involved in assembling and maintaining the structure of the Arp2/3 complex. Multiple versions of the p41 subunit may adapt the functions of the complex to different cell types or developmental stages. This protein also has a role in centrosomal homeostasis by being an activator and substrate of the Aurora A kinase. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
