MEMO1 Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS474122

During cell migration, actin assembly drives cell membrane protrusion, while microtubules (MTs) extend within protrusions to promote adhesion site turnover. Memo (mediator of ErbB2-driven cell motility) is an effector of the ErbB2 receptor tyrosine kinase… More details

ELISA: 1:2000
ICC: 1:200
WB: 1:1000
WB: Western blot membranes were incubated with diluted antibody in 5% non-fat milk, PBS, 0.04% Tween20 for 1 hour at room temperature.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-MEMO1 antibody

Western blot analysis of Memo expression in adult mouse heart (lane 1 & 4), mouse C2C12 cells (lane 2 & 5), and rabbit spleen fibroblast cells (lane 3 & 6). The blot was probed with anti-Memo (N-terminal region) (MP3721; lanes 1-6) in the presence (lanes 4-6) or absence (lanes 1-3) of Memo blocking peptide (MX3725).
Rabbit Anti-MEMO1 Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS474122

Immunocytochemistry (ICC) of anti-MEMO1 antibody

Immunocytochemical labeling of Memo in rabbit spleen fibroblasts that were fixed in paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with NP-40. The cells were probed with the Memo (N-terminal Region) MP3721, then the antibody was detected using goat anti-rabbit DyLight 594. The antibody was used in the absence (left) or presence (right) of it's blocking peptide (MX3725).

UniProt Comments for MEMO1

MEMO1: a highly conserved protein that controls cell migration by relaying extracellular chemotactic signals to the microtubule cytoskeleton. Regulates directionality during HER2-dependent cell migration. Controls microtubules, the actin network, and adhesion site formation in migrating cells via the MEMO1-RHOA-DIAPH1 signaling pathway. Homologous to class III nonheme iron-dependent dioxygenases. No metal-binding or enzymatic activity has been detected. Binds HER2 phosphorylated at Y1222 via its vestigial enzymatic active site. Binds to and influences insulin-like growth factor-I (IRS1) receptor-dependent signaling events in breast carcinogenesis. Influences the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) via the IRS1/PI3K/Akt/Snail1 pathway. Interacts with cofilin, and influences PLCg1 and cofilin activities. Increased expression is associated with cancer aggressiveness. The MEMO1-RHOA-DIAPH1 signaling pathway plays an important role in ERBB2-dependent stabilization of microtubules at the cell cortex. It controls the localization of APC and CLASP2 to the cell membrane, via the regulation of GSK3B activity. In turn, membrane-bound APC allows the localization of the MACF1 to the cell membrane, which is required for microtubule capture and stabilization. Two isoform of the human protein are produced by alternatuve splicing.
