The 6xHis (H-H-H-H-H-H) motif is used as a epitope tag on many recombinant proteins for efficient coupling to Ni2 affinity resins and purification by one step chromatography. The antibody recognizes the 6xHis-tag fused to the amino- or carboxy- termini of targeted proteins in transfected or transformed cells. Cellular localization: Depends upon the localization of the parent protein tagged with hexahistidine.
