UniProt Comments for TDRKH

TDRKH: a protein containing one Tudor and two KH_1 domims. Tudor domains have been shown to interact with arginine-glycine-rich motifs in a methylarginine-dependent manner, and target methylated arginines physiologically. KH domains are RNA-binding domains found in a wide variety of nucleic acid-binding proteins. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21

Cellular Component: mitochondrion

Molecular Function: RNA binding

Biological Process: cell differentiation; DNA methylation during gametogenesis; fertilization; male meiosis; RNA-mediated gene silencing; spermatogenesis
