Host
E Coli (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Form/Format
Recombinant G-CSF was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered PBS solution pH 7.0.
Purity/Purification
>98%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P09919
Domain
four helix cytokine core
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human G-CSF mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Native human G-CSF is generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide, the molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 19 kDa.

Recombinant GCSF is a disulfide-linked monomer protein consisting of 175 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates as an approximately 19 kDa protein under non-reducing
and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of G-CSF recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for G-CSF

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes. The active protein is found extracellularly. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

UniProt Comments for G-CSF

G-CSF: Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. This CSF induces granulocytes. Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
