Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
MIF, Recombinant Protein
Full Product Name
Mouse MIF Recombinant
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Mouse Migration Inhibitory Factor Recombinant; MIF; GLIF; MMIF ; Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor
Host
E Coli (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Form/Format
Recombinant mouse MIF was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution PBS pH 7.4
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
12,504 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P34884
Domain
four helix cytokine core
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Mouse MIF mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Native Mouse MIF, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide and propeptide, the molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 15 kDa.

Recombinant Mouse MIF is a disulfide-linked monomer protein consisting of 115 amino acid residue subunits, migrates as an approximately 13 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of MIF recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for MIF

MIF: a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. It plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may indicate an additional role in integrin signaling pathways. Also acts as a phenylpyruvate tautomerase.
