Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
MCP-5 (CCL12), Recombinant Protein
Full Product Name
Mouse MCP-5 (CCL12) Recombinant
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Gene Name
MCP-5
Product Synonym Names
Mouse MCP-5 recombinant; mcp-5; ccl12; mcp5; ccl-12
Host
E Coli (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Form/Format
Recombinant MCP-5 was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered 20mM PB solution pH 7.5, 100mM NaCl.
Purity/Purification
>98%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
11,659 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q62401
Domain
IL8
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Mouse MCP-5 (CCL12) mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Mouse MCP-5/CCL12, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide and has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 10kDa.

Recombinant MCP-5/CCL12 is a disulfide-linked monomeric protein consisting of 83 amino acid residue subunits and migrates as an approximately 10 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of CCL12 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for CCL12

CCL2: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. Monomer or homodimer; in equilibrium. Binds to CCR2 and CCR4. Is tethered on endothelial cells by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains of proteoglycans. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; Chemokine; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region; intracellular

Molecular Function: CCR2 chemokine receptor binding; chemokine activity; cytokine activity

Biological Process: positive regulation of leukocyte migration; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; MAPKKK cascade; cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; chemotaxis; macrophage chemotaxis; monocyte chemotaxis; regulation of cell shape; lipopolysaccharide-mediated signaling pathway; protein kinase B signaling cascade; immune response; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis; angiogenesis; inflammatory response; astrocyte cell migration
