Sr-PSOX (CXCL16) Mouse Recombinant Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS553335

CXCL16, a newly discovered CXC chemokine, exists both in a transmembrane and a soluble form. Membrane-bound CXCL16 is expressed by antigen-presenting cells such as monocytes, macrophages, B cells, and dendritic cells in the T- cell zone of lymph nodes.… More details

Host
E Coli (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Form/Format
Recombinant CXCL5 was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered 20mM PB,100mM NaCl solution pH 7.5.
Purity/Purification
>98%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
26,896 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q8BSU2
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding mouse SR-PSOX (CXCL16) mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
mouse CXCL16, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide and has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 20kDa.

Recombinant mouse CXCL16 is a disulfide-linked monomeric protein consisting of 175 amino acid residue subunits and migrates as an approximately 11 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of CXCL16 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for CXCL16

CXCL16: Acts as a scavenger receptor on macrophages, which specifically binds to OxLDL (oxidized low density lipoprotein), suggesting that it may be involved in pathophysiology such as atherogenesis. Induces a strong chemotactic response. Induces calcium mobilization. Binds to CXCR6/Bonzo. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: low-density lipoprotein receptor activity; chemokine activity; chemokine receptor binding; cytokine activity; scavenger receptor activity

Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; response to cytokine stimulus; chemotaxis; lymphocyte chemotaxis; positive regulation of cell growth; positive regulation of cell migration
