Lyophilized; PBS, pH 7.2
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this product can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree C - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

ModBase 3D Structure for Q9NPD7
Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Species
Human
Source Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human NRN1 mature chain was expressed in ECOLI. Recombinant Human Neuritin encodes amino acid residues 28-116.
Biological Activity
Determined by a cell proliferation using rat C6 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 20.0-30.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug(1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Applications Tested/Suitable for NRN1 active protein
SDS-PAGE
Application Notes for NRN1 active protein
Recombinant NRN1 migrates as an approximately 10 kDa protein under reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of NRN1 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for NRN1

This gene encodes a member of the neuritin family, and is expressed in postmitotic-differentiating neurons of the developmental nervous system and neuronal structures associated with plasticity in the adult. The expression of this gene can be induced by neural activity and neurotrophins. The encoded protein contains a consensus cleavage signal found in glycosylphoshatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins. The encoded protein promotes neurite outgrowth and arborization, suggesting its role in promoting neuritogenesis. Overexpression of the encoded protein may be associated with astrocytoma progression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
