Lyophilized; PBS, pH 7.2
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this product can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree C - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
32,318 Da
3D Structure

Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Species
Human
Source Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human TNFRSF11A mature chain was expressed in ECOLI. Recombinant Human Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 11A encodes amino acid residues 30-616.
Biological Activity
Determined by its ability to inhibit sRANKL induced NF-B in RAW264.7 cells in the absence of any cross-linking. The expected ED50 for this effect in the presence of 15 ng/ml of recombinant sRANKL, is 30-50 ng/ml.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug(1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Applications Tested/Suitable for TNFRSF11A active protein
SDS-PAGE
Application Notes for TNFRSF11A active protein
Recombinant TNFRSF11A migrates as an approximately 19 kDa protein under reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of TNFRSF11A active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for TNFRSF11A

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptors can interact with various TRAF family proteins, through which this receptor induces the activation of NF-kappa B and MAPK8/JNK. This receptor and its ligand are important regulators of the interaction between T cells and dendritic cells. This receptor is also an essential mediator for osteoclast and lymph node development. Mutations at this locus have been associated with familial expansile osteolysis, autosomal recessive osteopetrosis, and Paget disease of bone. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this locus. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

UniProt Comments for TNFRSF11A

Receptor for TNFSF11/RANKL/TRANCE/OPGL; essential for RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis. Involved in the regulation of interactions between T-cells and dendritic cells.
