Polyclonal
Host
Chicken
Form/Format
Liquid; PBS, pH 7.2 with stabilizer.
Purity/Purification
Antigen Affinity Purified
Concentration
1.0 mg/mL (lot specific)
Specificity
This antibody reacts with Protein A as determined by blotting and ELISA techniques. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2°C to 8°C.
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P04738
Immunogen
Protein A
Preservative
0.09% Sodium Azide
Procedure
Chickens were immunized with recombinant Protein A and egg yolks were collected. An IgY enriched fraction was prepared, antibody was immunoaffinity purified off an antigen containing immunosorbent and conjugated with biotin. Antibody concentration was determined using an absorbance at 280 nm: 1.32 equals 1.0 mg of IgY.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-faeC antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for faeC

Function: Fimbriae (also called pili), polar filaments radiating from the surface of the bacterium to a length of 0.5-1.5 micrometers and numbering 100-300 per cell, enable bacteria to colonize the epithelium of specific host organs.

Subunit structure: K88 fimbria, 0.1-1 micrometer in length and 7 nanometers in diameter, is composed of about 100 identical subunits.

Subcellular location: Fimbrium. Note: Predominantly located at the tip of the fimbriae.
