Actin Gamma-Cytoplasmic Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS570220

Among the six actin isoforms described in mammals, two are found in virtually all cells (beta- and gamma-cytoplasmic), two are detected in smooth muscle cells (alpha- and gamma-smooth muscle) and two are present in striated muscles, one predominantly in… More details

Chicken, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Swine, Zebrafish
Form/Format
Each vial contains 100 ul 1 mg/ml purified monoclonal antibody in PBS containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Specificity
2A3 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody highly specific for gamma-cytoplasmic actin.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C, or in small aliquots at -20 degree C.
Source Note
2A3 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody derived by fusion of NS0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c Mouse immunized with a peptide comprising the N-terminal nonapeptide of gamma-cytoplasmic actin with an acetylated N-terminus (Ac-EEEIAALVI-COOH) coupled to keyhole limpet hemocyanin through the cysteine residue. The antibody does not cross react with other actin isoforms.
Reactivity Note
The epitope recognized by alpha-SM1 is highly conserved. The antibody therefore cross-reacts with many species including protochordates, lower craniates and mammals.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-actin gamma-cytoplasmic antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (frozen), Western Blot (WB)
2A3 is useful for immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin-embedded tissues, immunoblotting, flow cytometry and ELISA. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titRation; recommended range is 1:100 - 1:500 for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:1000 - 1:5000 for immunoblotting appliCations.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-actin gamma-cytoplasmic antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
