Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-Vcam1 antibody
Flow Cytometry (FC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (frozen), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-Vcam1 antibody
4B9 is suitable for immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry and immuno-histochemistry on frozen tissues and flow cytometry. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titRation; recommended range is 1:25 - 1:200 for flow cytometry, and for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:100 - 1:1000 for immunoblotting appliCations.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-Vcam1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for Vcam1

binds integrin very late antigen (VLA4); plays a role in cell adhesion [RGD, Feb 2006]

UniProt Comments for Vcam1

VCAM1: Important in cell-cell recognition. Appears to function in leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion. Interacts with the beta-1 integrin VLA4 on leukocytes, and mediates both adhesion and signal transduction. The VCAM1/VLA4 interaction may play a pathophysiologic role both in immune responses and in leukocyte emigration to sites of inflammation. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
