EpCAM/CD326/EPG-2/SCLC-CD2 Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS570344

The epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), also known as CD326, is a 40 kD glycoprotein that is expressed at the basolateral cell membrane of simple, pseudo-stratified and transitional epithelia of normal adult tissues. EpCAM is reported to function as a… More details

Product Overview

Product Name
EpCAM/CD326/EPG-2/SCLC-CD2, Monoclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
Mouse anti EpCAM/CD326/EPG-2/SCLC-CD2 epithelial antigen
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1
Clone Number
GZ-1
Host
Mouse

Rat. Does not react with human
Form/Format
Each vial contains 100ug 1mg/ml purified monoclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Specificity
The antibody GZ-1 is directed against rat EpCAM and recognises an epitope that is distinct from that recognised by the GZ-20 antibody. The GZ-1 antibody does not cross react with human EpCAM.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C, or in small aliquots at -20 degree C.

35,207 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for O55159
Source Note
GZ-1 is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody derived by fusion of P3-NS1/1-Ag4-1 mouse myeloma cells with splenocytes from a BALB/c mouse immunized with isolated epithelial cells from rat small intestine.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-EpCAM/CD326/EPG-2/SCLC-CD2 antibody
Immunoprecipitation (IP), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), IImmunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, Western Blot (WB)
The GZ-1 antibody is suitable for the detection of rat EpCAM by western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry.

The antibody is also suitable for the detection of rat EpCAM by immunohistochemistry on frozen tissue sections (acetone fixation for 10 minutes at -20 degree C) and paraffin embedded tissues.

Optimal antibody dilutions for the different applications should be determined by titration.

UniProt Comments for EpCAM/CD326/EPG-2/SCLC-CD2

EPCAM: a single-pass type I membrane protein of the EPCAM family. May act as a physical homophilic interaction molecule between intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs) at the mucosal epithelium for providing immunological barrier as a first line of defense against mucosal infection. Expressed in almost all epithelial cell membranes but not on mesodermal or neural cell membranes. Found on the surface of adenocarcinomas including pancreatic carcinoma. May be a marker of cancer stem cells.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell cycle regulation; Cell surface; Cell adhesion; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: tight junction; cell surface; basolateral plasma membrane; apical plasma membrane; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; lateral plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein complex binding

Biological Process: ureteric bud development; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; stem cell differentiation; negative regulation of apoptosis
