Bioactivity
Targocil functions as a bacteriostatic inhibitor of wall teichoic acid (WTA) biosynthesis which can inhibit the growth of methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) with MIC90s of 2 mug/ mL for both MRSA and MSSA.
Solubility Note
For obtaining a higher solubility, please warm the tube at 37 degree C and shake it in the ultrasonic bath for a while. Stock solution can be stored below -20 degree C for several month.
