Application Notes for anti-CD59a antibody
Application Use: For immunohistology, flow cytometry and Western blotting, dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For functional studies, in vitro dilutions have to be optimized in user's experimental setting.

UniProt Comments for CD59a

CD59A: Potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC) action. Acts by binding to the C8 and/or C9 complements of the assembling MAC, thereby preventing incorporation of the multiple copies of C9 required for complete formation of the osmolytic pore.

Cellular Component: membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: complement binding

Biological Process: cell activation; negative regulation of angiogenesis; negative regulation of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of complement activation; negative regulation of activation of membrane attack complex
