M. Tuberculosis Moex Recombinant Protein

M. Tuberculosis remains as the second cause of death from infectiou diseases in the world. According to WHO report, there were an estimated 8.7 million new TB cases in 2011 and approximately 1.4 million TB-related death. Early and accurate identification of active tuberculosis and differetiation of infection from BCG vaccinated individuals are immediate need in clinic.
Culture of M. tuberculosis from patient’s specimen still is gold standard for its identification, but it is time-consuming. Moex is a new marker deifined from M. tuberculosis genome, it is secreted from the infected organ into blood. it circulates in blood flow and filtrates through into urine, it is considered as a potential reliable marker for M. tuberculosis identification by urine screen test, suitable to screen large population. This antigen was also found as a useful marker to detect the specific antibody by infected M tuberculosis.
