Antitrypsin Activated Protein C (SERPINA3) Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS601232

Protein C is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease produced in the liver and made up of 2 polypeptide chains. The 62kD proenzyme is activated by thrombin and the active enzyme cleaves factor Va and VIIIa and thus inhibits blood coagulation. The molecular… More details

Mouse
Species Reactivity
Human
Form/Format
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 15mM sodium azide.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Purified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography from culture supernatant.
Specificity
Has specificity for a conformation-dependent neoepitope that is expressed in activated protein C upon complex-formation with a1-antitrypsin. No reaction is seen to non-complexed a1-antitrypsin and only very little cross reaction to protein C zymogen. Note that specificity is calcium dependent.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Mouse Anti-SERPINA3 Monoclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS601232

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-SERPINA3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for SERPINA3

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variations in this protein's sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
