Testing Data of anti-VAX2 antibody

Mouse Anti-VAX2 Monoclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS602099

Western Blot (WB) of anti-VAX2 antibody

Detection of VAX2 by Western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate from human A2058 (H, 50 μg) and mouse NIH3T3 (M, 50 μg) cells. Predicted molecular weight: 30 kD
Mouse Anti-VAX2 Monoclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS602099

Immunostaining (IS) of anti-VAX2 antibody

Immunostaining analysis in HeLa cells. HeLa cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS. The cells were immunostained with anti-VAX2 mAb.
Mouse Anti-VAX2 Monoclonal Antibody, Immunostaining (IS) – Cat# MBS602099

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-VAX2 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for VAX2

This gene encodes a homeobox protein and is almost exclusively expressed in the ventral portion of the retina during development. In mouse studies, this gene was found to be required for the correct formation of the optic fissure and other aspects of retinal development. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for VAX2

VAX2: Transcription factor that may function in dorsoventral specification of the forebrain. Regulates the expression of Wnt signaling antagonists including the expression of a truncated TCF7L2 isoform that cannot bind CTNNB1 and acts therefore as a potent dominant-negative Wnt antagonist. Plays a crucial role in eye development and, in particular, in the specification of the ventral optic vesicle. May be a regulator of axial polarization in the retina. Belongs to the EMX homeobox family.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: chromatin DNA binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: Wnt receptor signaling pathway; transcription, DNA-dependent; visual perception; axonogenesis; embryonic eye morphogenesis; retina development in camera-type eye; forebrain development; ectoderm development; dorsal/ventral axis specification; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter
