IQGAP1 Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS603914

Proteins of the IQGAP family have been identified as candidate effectors for the Rho family of GTPases. The domain structure of IQGAP family members suggests that these proteins may function as regulators of the cytoskeleton. In particular their sequences… More details

Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-IQGAP1 antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-IQGAP1 antibody
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml detects IQGAP1 from a HepG2 RIPA cell lysate. HepG2 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with I8448-75. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) Goat x Mo and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunoprecipitation: 4ug immunoprecipitated IQGAP1 from 500ug of a HepG2 RIPA lysate.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-IQGAP1 antibody

WB: HepG2 cell lysate probed was probed with MBS603914 (0.5ug/ml).

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-IQGAP1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for IQGAP1

This gene encodes a member of the IQGAP family. The protein contains four IQ domains, one calponin homology domain, one Ras-GAP domain and one WW domain. It interacts with components of the cytoskeleton, with cell adhesion molecules, and with several signaling molecules to regulate cell morphology and motility. Expression of the protein is upregulated by gene amplification in two gastric cancer cell lines. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for IQGAP1

IQGAP1: Binds to activated CDC42 but does not stimulate its GTPase activity. It associates with calmodulin. Could serve as an assembly scaffold for the organization of a multimolecular complex that would interface incoming signals to the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton at the plasma membrane. May promote neurite outgrowth. Interacts with CDC42; the interaction is demonstrated with IQGAP1 in GTP-bound and in nucleotide-free state. Interacts with RAC1. Does not interact with RHOA. Interacts with TSG101. Interacts with PAK6. Expressed in the placenta, lung, and kidney. A lower level expression is seen in the heart, liver, skeletal muscle and pancreas.
