Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
Protein Phosphatase 2A, alpha, Catalytic Subunit (PPP2CA), Monoclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
Protein Phosphatase 2A, alpha, Catalytic Subunit (PP2Aa, PP2A)
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Anti -Protein Phosphatase 2A, alpha, Catalytic Subunit (PP2Aa, PP2A)
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG2b
Clone Number
8H124
Host
Rat
Species Reactivity
Human
Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitution: Reconstitute with sterile PBS. If 0.2ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 500ug/ml.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human PP2A. Because PP2A-alpha and PP2A-beta catalytic subunits are identical in the region used for the antigen, it is expected that both isoforms will be detected by the antibody.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Molecular Weight
35,594 Da
Chromosome Location
Chromosome: 7; AC_000164.1 (47425980..47450747, complement). Location: chromosome: 7
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P67774
Immunogen
E. coli-derived recombinant human PP2A-alpha catalytic subunit (aa209-309)
Hybridoma
Produced from a hybridoma elicited from a rat immunized with amino acids 209-309 of purified, E. coli-derived recombinant human PP2A-alpha catalytic subunit (Accession # M60483).
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-PPP2CA antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes for anti-PPP2CA antibody
Immunohistochemistry
Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: This antibody was tested on paraffin-embedded human tissues (liver, small intestine and colon cancer). Recommended working dilution is 8-25ug/mL when using an HRP-DAB detection system. Positive control: normal human liver. Antibody diluent: 0.1 M PBS (pH 7.4) containing 1% bovine serum albumin, 1% normal donkey serum, 0.3% Triton X-100, and 0.01% sodium azide. Antigen retrieval: Is not usually required for this target protein, but if low intensity of tissue staining is observed, heat-induced epitope retrieval of PP2A antigen can be done. Staining pattern: Many PP2A-immunoreactive hepatocytes can be found in normal human liver. PP2A staining can be seen in the cytoplasm and has punctate appearance.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-PPP2CA antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for PPP2CA

PPP2CA: ubiquitous cytosolic Ser/Thr protein phosphatase, catalytic subunit. The holoenzyme consists of a 36 kDa catalytic subunit (subunit C) and a 65 kDa constant regulatory subunit (PR65 or subunit A), that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. Proteins that associate with the core dimer include three families of regulatory subunits B (the R2/B/PR55/B55, R3/B'/PR72/PR130/PR59 and R5/B'/B56 families), the 48 kDa variable regulatory subunit, viral proteins, and cell signaling molecules.
