Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250-1:1000; Mouse liver cytosol extract was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-PP2Ca(1:250). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a DAP detection system.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-PPM1A antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for PPM1A

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase dephosphorylates, and negatively regulates the activities of, MAP kinases and MAP kinase kinases. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of p38 and JNK kinase cascades induced by environmental stresses. This phosphatase can also dephosphorylate cyclin-dependent kinases, and thus may be involved in cell cycle control. Overexpression of this phosphatase is reported to activate the expression of the tumor suppressor gene TP53/p53, which leads to G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for PPM1A

PPPM1A: a Ser/Thr protein phosphatase of the PP2C family. Inhibits the activation of p38 and JNK kinase cascades induced by environmental stresses. Can also dephosphorylate cyclin-dependent kinases and may play a role in cell cycle control. Overexpression of this phosphatase activates the expression of p53, leading to G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.
