Immunocytochemistry (ICC) of anti-TOLLIP antibody

Figure: Immunocytochemistry showing the detection of Tollip in Tollip -/- (A) or Tollip +/+ (B) murine embryo fibroblasts (MEF) cells with the MAb to Tollip. Method: Following fixation with paraformaldehyde 3.7% and permeabilization with 0.2% saponin, MEF cells were incubated with the MAb to Tollip at a 1:100 dilution. An anti-mouse IgG antibody conjugated with Alexa Fluor 488 was used for detection.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-TOLLIP antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for TOLLIP

This gene encodes a ubiquitin-binding protein that interacts with several Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling cascade components. The encoded protein regulates inflammatory signaling and is involved in interleukin-1 receptor trafficking and in the turnover of IL1R-associated kinase. [supplied by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for TOLLIP

TOLLIP: Component of the signaling pathway of IL-1 and Toll-like receptors. Inhibits cell activation by microbial products. Recruits IRAK1 to the IL-1 receptor complex. Inhibits IRAK1 phosphorylation and kinase activity. Oligomerizes. Binds to TLR2 and the TLR4-MD2 complex via its C-terminus. Exists as complex with IRAK1 in unstimulated cells. Upon IL-1 signaling, Tollip binds to the activated IL-1 receptor complex containing IL-1RI, IL-1RacP and the adapter protein MyD88, where it interacts with the TIR domain of IL-1RacP. MyD88 then triggers IRAK1 autophosphorylation, which in turn leads to the dissociation of IRAK1 from Tollip and IL-1RAcP. Interacts with TOM1L2. Belongs to the tollip family.
